Sunrise Coronavirus Elopement

Sunrise Coronavirus Elopement

MISTRAL POINT, MAROUBRA, NSW.

Like so many couples, Todd and Carly had their perfect day planned, only for it to be ruined by coronavirus (damn you COVID-19!). They were supposed to get married in Byron Bay on ANZAC day but instead decided on a 5 person gig in their hometown, Maroubra.

The only people in attendance were Todd, Carly, Allegra the celebrant, John the videographer and me. Oh there was one extra – their super cute short haired golden retriever puppy, Ronnie.

Todd and Carly wanted to get married in the morning and we eventually settled on sunrise, because why the hell not. It was my first ever sunrise wedding and the first time I’ve had to sign the marriage certificate as a witness. That was pretty cool!

I wasn’t expecting so many people to be out catching the sunrise on ANZAC day (2nd photo down). What a top spot to pay your respects. Luckily the spot Todd and Carly chose was away from the masses.

It just goes to show that you can still do something awesome during these shitty times. Congratulations Todd and Carly for doing it your way and having me there to witness it. Enjoy the massive party you’ve got planned 12 month from now.
