KANGAROO VALLEY BUSH RETREAT, KANGAROO VALLEY, NSW.
This was one of the most romantic weddings I’ve been to in recent times.. Every wedding that I go to is incredible but there was something about Michaela and Oliver’s wedding that took it to the next level. The crazy romantic chemistry that was buzzing around between these two was felt by every single person at the Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat. Michaela and Oliver invited me to come and stay with them at the property along with their guests for 2 nights. This ended up being the perfect prep to get immersed in their super chilled vibes. It also meant I got to enjoy the community vibes of the guests getting involved with DIY wedding prep.
Oli runs the vegan cafe Samadhi Wholefoods in Camden. They’re all for making the earth a happier and healthier place through ethically sourced foods. So it made sense that they wanted to share their passion with their guests so the wedding was a completely animal product free event. Some of the guests looked nervous at the prospect, but I can confirm that it was enjoyed by all and was one of the tastiest meals I’ve ever been served at a wedding.
The whole day went off without a hitch. Michaela and Oli naturally wanted to spend as much time as possible with their guests so we did a few photos directly after the ceremony and then ducked out again around sunset for a few more. I recommend to all my couples to make time for some extra photos around sunset, just the two of them (and me of course). It’s a great chance for me to capture you in the beautiful light that’s usually on display but it’s also the perfect time for you to just reflect on the day and take it all in. And if you’re anything like these two the romantic wedding vibes will be in overdrive and just be a joy for me to capture.
Michaela and Oli, you’re both beautiful humans and it was a real privilege to witness your love and to feel like I was involved in all the good times that were had that day. I hope the day lives on in your hearts forever.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat needed the music off at 10pm. Never fear though because at exactly 10:01pm the silent disco kicked off and it was one of the most fun things I’ve seen at a wedding. Drunk people dancing like wild animals in almost complete silence is now one of my all time favourite wedding memories. If your venue has tight noise restrictions I 100% back a silent disco.
