PRIVATE PROPERTY, GLENQUARRY PARK, NSW.
When I arrived at the family property in the Southern Highlands for Ellie and Steve’s dream wedding I was dumbstruck at just how incredible the place was. Heading up the long driveway, dotted with sculptures and artworks I was starting to think Ellie had been a little modest when describing the family home. After a quick tour from Ellie’s brother I learnt that her parents had built the house and the all of the gardens from scratch over 30 years. When deciding on the location for their dream wedding it was a no brainer.
Surfing trip proposal
When it came time for Steve to propose he wanted it to involve surfing because it’s something they both loved. So he planned a weekend away with some of their best mates at Crescent Head. Mid surfing sesh and in front of their mates, Steve dropped to his knee on the sand and asked Ellie to marry him. Cover in sand, zinc and still in their wetsuits, Ellie said yes and they had the best arvo with their mates riding waves and hi-fiving.
Ceremony bat toss
I’ve seen a few ceremonies where the couples will scissor, paper, rock to see who’ll go first with their vows. Not Ellie and Steve. With Steve being a huge sports fan, they decided to toss a cricket bat instead. Ellie ended up winning the toss and sent Steve in first.
They also did something a little different with the rings. The rings were taped to a Rabbitohs footy. Then Steve’s 5yo nephew was given the job of kicking the footy to the front of the ceremony. He produced the perfect kick as the ball sailed through the air and was caught safely by the groomsmen.
Ellie got air
Ellie and Steve had one of the most fun bridal parties I’ve ever photographed. Just check out the photos below to see all the smiles and laughter. Just before wrapping up the bridal party photos, the request came for one more photo. The boys thought it would be fun to have a photo holding up Ellie. I quickly got the shot and joked that they should throw Ellie up and catch her. Without hesitating they did exactly that. Check out Ellie’s face!
Nobody puts baby in the corner
The bridal party all had some great entrance moves when the reception got underway, but none better than the last two groomsmen who were inspired by Dirty Dancing. I didn’t know it was coming so I wasn’t in the best position but I was still able to grab a few shots of the action on the run. The two of them strolled in calmly at either end of the marquee and finished with a running lift and above the bridal table. The groomsman that was hoisted high lost all the buttons on his shirt but didn’t care. It was the best entrance I’ve ever seen at a wedding.

Hands down one of my favourite weddings ever. Ellie and Steve, you are two of the most down to Earth humans ever. It was so special to be there and capture the day for you guys. Thank you so much for the incredible review:
“Scott was a hands down stand out. He was so helpful from the beginning even recommending celebrants and bands for us (how’s that for above and beyond!) but it was his connection on the day that made him truely memorable. I’m a bit awkward behind the camera and he made us feel so comfortable, all the bridal party loved having him around. I don’t know how he did it – I can only assume he’s some sort of magician – but somehow he seemed to be in at least 2 different places at once, yet we hardly noticed him there, and yet at the same time having this friendly, warm, memorable presence you can’t help but like. “
Please GET IN TOUCH if you’d like me to capture your wedding day.
